Please don’t ever do this. Never get a pet without negotiating with your parents/roommates prior.
Most of the time, if you get pets without asking them, not only is that extremely rude and inconsiderate to someone who has to share their living space with that creature, but sometimes, they may even have to take care of them themselves most of the time, all over a pet they never asked for or even like.
This is how most pets end up in shelters or, worst-case scenario, they get abandoned and become another stray on the streets.

We got 2 cats last years, and now I DREAD the day I will have to say goodbye to them. I tear up just thinking about it.
